What's even more interesting is something totally unrelated that she mentioned while she was here.
There is this wonderful organization called Brown Dog Foundation who is a not for profit org. that helps families who have a pet who is in need of life saving medical treatment, but may not be able to afford it. I think this is absolutely brilliant. Vet bills can be astronomical and especially in financially trying times like these, an accident or other medical emergency could mean the choice between treating your pet and saving their life or euthanasia just because the treatment is too much for your family to handle. That's a choice no pet owner should ever have to make, unfortunately, more often than you would think, it happens.
There are lots of ways to help Brown Dog Foundation, too. So don't worry if you don't have extra cash to donate. Take a look at their wish list . You can donate skills, office supplies, toys, treats...There's a ton of ways to help.
I know I'll be sending what I can. Won't you take some time to see what you can do to help those who are helping others?
Having to decide your pet's fate is not pleasant, I'm glad that there is the Brown Dog to be able to help those who need it.
Just catching up (great job on WWC btw). Brown dog sounds like a wonderful thing. I can't imagine having to make that kind of choice and hope I never have to.
What a great organization! I've had astronomical bills with Trace, luckily I had credit cards to put them on.
Brown Dog rocks!
