I spaced out and missed the WWC yesterday, so I'm playing make up...
Tink challenged us to photo-interpret Yellow & In My Purse/Wallet. Let me just say this...I'm soooooo happy that I recently changed purses and cleaned out the majority of the trash that my purse was harboring! Otherwise, I would be awkwardly embarrassed to show you!
Here's what I came up with, lame, I know, but hey, I tried!
Wifester has a menagerie of baby animal minis. Here's some of them
The current contents of my purse
have you ever seen so many keys owned by a person who doesn't even drive or own a car???
Last weekend, while Wifester, SunnyDog and I were at the park having our picnic, I played around with some of Wifester's fancy-schmancy lenses...this one gave a cool yellow color to the photos! And that's all I got for yah this week! Tune in next week and hopefully I'll be on time.
Do I get partial credit anyways?
The "words" for next week are: Lean(Multiple Meanings!) and 3
Ok, so I've been caught up in the moment with creating new art with Real Live Lesbian, working on this huge research paper for school, and of course being obsessed with the elections, so I've yet again been a bit negligent in my performance for this week's WWC. I see that Tink, our talented and almost married hostess, was able to produce a WWC, and she's just days away from getting married! What's that mean to me? Easy, I have no excuse. Here's my interpretation of Hands & Feet:
There you have it. Yeah, I know the photos are recycled, again, and you've seen them before, but hey, they work. If you want in on the WWC fun, go see Tink! Oh, but next week, it'll be my favorite cynic, Jay, over at Cynical Bastard hosting it. So stop by there for the WWC-411.
http://pickledbeef.blogspot.com/2008/10/weekly-words-challenge-58.html So I really didn't get a good chance to get very many photos for this week's WWC. Tink, asked for us to interpret, via our cameras, the words Then and Now. (Geez, Tink, are you trying to give me an aneurysm?) I decided I needed to dig into some archives to fulfill this weeks challenge.
As I mentioned in yesterday's post, I ran into one of the Party Boys, who I used to roommate with, way back Then...
And here's the same Party Boy Now...
Here's me, way, way, way back Then
And a balance between Then and Now... That's all I got for yah this week. If you wanna play along, go see Tink, she'll hook you up.
Saturday, Wifester and I took the Sunny-dog and met up with our friends L & N (and their 3 pooches, Reba the doberman, Wiskey the pit-bull mix, and Cha-Cha, the chihuahua ) at the doggie park. It was great fun, but in watching the pups wrestle around and mingle with all the others, promptly and sometimes obsessively sniffing butts, I was struck with the thought that I am certainly grateful that we don't have the same social graces as our K9 counterparts. At least most of us don't. It was an exciting day and the Sunny-dog is still recovering her energy. She actually left the comfort and protection of Wifester and I and played a bit this time. I call that progress. We'll take every little bit of progress we can muster. The last time we took her there, she sat between the two of us shivering the whole time. Afraid to go play with anyone. This time, she made friends and took it upon herself to be mama-hen to a couple of really cute little puppies that were rambumctious and awfully sweet. If I could have fit them in my pockets, and snuck out without their parent's seeing, they'd of both come home with me, let there be no doube in your mind. And it got me to thinking. Sunny needs a puppy at home to play with. She really does. I think she'd love to play mama to a little puppy! And besides that, she'll teach the pup all she knows and who better to learn from than the best dog in the world? I know, I know...I'm just practicing my pitch for Wifester, you understand. If I bat my eyelashes a lot, and say it extra sweetly, it just might work. I'll keep you posted. On to the WWC! It's been three weeks since I've participated in the Weekly Words Challenge!( Brought to us by the soon to be married, Tink, of Pickled Beef) If you want to join the WWC posse' go see her, she'll get you in the saddle. I'm such a slacker. Sorry for the inconsistency and lack of commitment. If you could see the flow charts I'm being asked to make for this horrendous programing class, you'd understand. This week's words are Me & Them.
This week's WWC words were a delight! Tink, over at Pickled Beef, challenged us to post our photo interpretations of the words Modern & Primitive.
Modern Software:
Primitave, notice it says it's compatible with Windows 3.1 and 95!!!
Primitave art
Modern
He looks Primitive, don't cha think?
And in unrelated events, as promised, here's my update on my Green LA Vergne Group's Booth we worked at our city's Old Timer's Day Parade and Festival this weekend. We signed up a LOT of new members who are willing to volunteer to help us make our city litter free, cleaner, and greener and all around a more beautiful and earth friendly place to live. We made some new important contacts, and we were invited to run a booth at a local school's Fall Festival next month. Mission accomplished! Here's the Green La Vergne gang, sans Wifester, as she was behind the camera...
The words for next week are: Time and Place
Hmmmm....I better get busy working on that one. Don't forget to see Tink, if you're interested in joining.
Yes, kiddies, it's time again for the wonderful and challenging Weekly Words Challenge, brought to us by none other than Tink, from Pickled Beef. If you want to play, talk to the fairy. Don't forget to stop by the WWC Flickr group, too!
This week's words are Male & Female:
So back in June, when we went on vacation, we went to Wifester's brother's wedding. I thought I'd make the newlyweds a present to commemorate their special day, think they'll like it? It's still in progress...
Here's my old roommate, Menace, showing us that he's a boy, OK Menace, put that thing away, already!
What is it with boys showing their stuff?
you gotta love rainbow man!
I paint a lot of female mermaids
now, this one's tricky, because the one nursing is the female, while the one being nursed on is male!
just because someone's shirt says "trust me..." I'm just sayin'...
So that's all I've got for this week's WWC. Remember, if you want to join the fun, go see Tink!
The bride to be, Tink, over at Pickled Beef, asked us to show our interpretations of Safe & Danger for this week's Weekly Words Challenge. Never being one to play it safe, and Danger being my middle name, I was surely up for the challenge! Here's what I came up with:
Click on a photo for full screen slide show
Don't forget to stop by the WWC Flickr Group to see even more photos, and if you want to join the challenge, go see Tink, she has all the 411 to get you started.
The words for next week are: Male and Female come back to see what I've posted then!
Oh my god! The holiday weekend let me get away from myself and forget that today is WWC Day, not tomorrow. I apologize, I really wanted to make something special with this one, instead, I've had to recycle some old photos, and throw them in with a new one or two...sorry about that... Here's my interpretation:
Moody & Bright
The sun is BRIGHT coming in my window at work
These BRIGHT coffee cups put me in a good Mood when I found them!
Wifester thinks it's funny when I say things like "It's loud" when I really mean to say "it's too BRIGHT" after I've had a seizure
She looks like an angel, but trust me, she's MOODY!
But probably not nearly as MOODY as me!
Remember, if you want to join the WWC, visit Tink, over at Pickled Beef! She'll show you what's what. The words for next week are: Safe and Danger
This weekend, after the Janis Ian book signing -meeting extravaganza(more about that later), Wifester and I went to the Wilson County Fair. What a great place to get photos for the WWC! Or at least one would think...Yet again, the Wifester kept custody of the camera while we were at the fair, I did manage to pry it from her grip a few times to get a couple of shots in, but since she's learned a new trick with photoshop, I've yet to see my computer screen, or the shots that I took that evening. So, yet again, I have a half-assed WWC, and yet again, it's shot with my phone which is a piece of crap. Verizon, if you're paying any attention...take a queue and do something about the Chocolate!I mean, sure your service rocks, I never loose signal, but your phone is a piece of crap! Your prices are absurd and quite honestly, I miss my sweet ass TMobile Dash. I just don't miss it dropping calls all the time, or searching for a network...But that's neither here nor there, and at least I have a phone to take pictures with, since Wifester has gone all shutter-bug on me and become a photo-snob. (I still love you, honey-bear!) What were we talking about? Oh, that reminds me, yesterday Wifester told me that I am too wordy when I write! Gasp! She laughed at me and said that I divulge too many details that are not necessary or important or interesting or something to that effect, I'm not really sure, by that point, I was tuning her out and all that was running through my head was "My wife hates my writing! Oh my god, MY WIFE HATES MY WRITING! She can't even stand to read my blog, no wonder she likes to dictate what can and can not be said in it, she hates me and my blog and my writing, she probably hates my painting too, and my little clay sculptures...I bet she hates that little clay flower and dragonfly on the mantle right now! MY WIFE HATES ME!" Then I snapped back into reality and thought, yeah, sometimes I suppose I do get a bit too verbose and drone on and on...Oh wow, am I doing that now? Nah! What were we talking about again? Oh yeah, the WWC~ which is brought to us by the windblown and Fay drenched Tink, of Pickled Beef. Luckily Tink escaped Fay realtively unscathed, and thank god for that because who else would we turn to for sock zombies and trivia games? This week's WWC words are Sour & Salty... Drink too much of this, and you'll feel Sour And then of course there's always and forever :
so that about covers it! Don't forget to go see Tink if you want to play the WWC
The words for next week are: Moody and Bright
Since I'm eternally Bright and sometimes Moody, I think I can whip something up next week fo-sho!
I've been AWOL from the WWC for a few weeks, and I've really been missing it. Wifester and I still have the power struggle over custody of the camera. The few times I was able to snatch it from her ever strengthening grip, I was able to come up with this interpretation for this week's WWC, which is brought to us by none other than the fairy dust yielding, Tink, of Pickled Beef. She challenged us to interpret Temporary and Permanent, here's mine:
Temporary Blooms, permenant plants
King Neptune, a Permanent reminder of Roman mythology
It didn't photograph well, but here's my permanent tribute to the place Wifester and I got married, which is permanent as well!
And that's, that's, that's all folks! Be sure to check out the Flickr group for more photos!
The time has come again for the Weekly Words Challenge, brought to us by Tink, of Pickled Beef. She slyly challenged us to interpret, with the aid of our boxes o light, the words Heavy & Light. Now, to be honest, I wanted to take some photos of some big assed drag queens and some crack headed looking ones and post that, I was, after all, at Gay Pride Day on Sunday. But on further thought, those queens like to sue, and I don't have time to deal with it. So instead, here's my milder interpretation of
OK,so it's a day late, and a dollar short, but hey, that's kinda the story of my life. School has had me crazy,(not that I wasn't already) and in fact, I was a bit behind on some homework and really needed to get that up to date. Now I have a nice long weekend coming up and I'm sooooooooo happy for THAT. Sometimes I get myself into more than I know how to handle, and this has been one of those times. I'm learning how to balance and juggle everything that I have going on right now, but these things take time to get a handle on. That being said, my WWC is late, and pretty much fully taken via my cell phone this week. Again, it was difficult to pry the good camera away from the wife when we were out having fun, and when we weren't out having fun, I was either at work, working, or in school, being well, schooled. Speaking of being schooled, Tink, of Pickled Beef, schooled us all on the pleasures of running nekked through the woods, but maybe she skipped the day in which they taught us about the gargantuanalligators that reside in the woods in Florida... Oh well, she made it back, without becoming tasty alligator snacks, and hosted this week's WWC with the words Regret and Pure. Here's my interpretation.
Regret : I regret to inform you that my neighbors STILL have not cut their grass...
look! it's all the way up to the top step already! ri-friggindiculous!
Me, displaying regret:
and I bet these guys regretted landing in this web (my one and only opportunity to pry the camera from the wife's hands)
Pure:
The AniDifranco show was pure joy for me Sunny-dog looks like she's in pure heaven when she lays her head on my pillow
purely for fun, what if the wife and I could make a baby?
Alright, yall, that's all I got this week. I know, I know. Soon I'll be back in the game with a ferocious vengeance, but for now, I must focus on school and work and getting my Green La Vergne group up and running…sigh.
WWC is so fun, if you think you want to join in and play along, go see Tink, she'll show you how.
Oh, and don't forget to drop by the WWCFlickr page too!
Next week's words are Penultimate and Entrance! OOOOH, those otta be fun!
